Privacy Policy

Last updated: 11 June 2026

Waqfa is built to protect your privacy completely. The app runs entirely on your device.

What we collect: nothing.

Waqfa has no account, no login, and no servers. We do not collect, transmit, or store any personal data off your device.

Location

Waqfa uses your location only to calculate accurate prayer times, and that calculation happens entirely on your device using the open-source Adhan library. Your location never leaves your phone and is never sent to us — we have no servers to send it to.

Screen Time / app blocking

Waqfa uses Apple's Family Controls (Screen Time) framework to block the apps you choose until you complete your prayer. Your app selections and prayer activity stay on your device, managed by iOS. We never see them.

No tracking, no analytics, no ads, no third parties

Waqfa contains no analytics, no advertising, and no third-party trackers. Nothing about your usage is transmitted anywhere.

Deletion

All app data lives on your device. Deleting the app removes it.

Children

Waqfa collects no data from anyone, including children.

Changes

If this policy ever changes, we'll update this page.

Support

Waqfa helps you pause distracting apps until you've prayed — a gentle, intention-based focus tool for your five daily prayers.

How does blocking work?

Waqfa uses Apple's Screen Time (Family Controls) to block the apps you choose during each prayer window. Mark the prayer complete — or tap "I prayed" on the shield — to unlock.

Where do prayer times come from?

They're calculated on your device from your location using the open-source Adhan library. Set your city, madhab, and calculation method in Settings.

Is my data private?

Yes — everything stays on your device. See the Privacy Policy above.
